Preliminary task sketches

Evaluation.

Evaluation this product has both good and bad features.

The product shows a good use of images that describe the topics. This use of images and titles makes it look professional and altogether fits the plan nicely. This altogether works well to show off a school magazine designed at older audiences, however the magazine content is better suited to the younger school members.

The front page used a blurred edge in order to make the writing visible and not clash with the darker parts of the image. The chaotic background means that the smart font used for the title stands out more as a contrast.
The contents page used a vertical shot of me and Natalie looking at an Ipad, and once again the lighter side of the page was blurred to ensure that the writing was visible. The writing was clear on the page and for the contents page this was vital as that’s the point of the page ultimately.
What i should have done better is edited the photos so that they had similar colouring, rather than one very dull front cover and a bright contents page.

Prelimonary task

production log

Production log For the last 2 weeks I have been completing my preliminary task. This has involved taking photos, designing a hand drawn version of my magazine and finally creating a computer version of this design. The first lesson we were unleashed onto Haydon in search of photos and found that one of the building and one of the students created a contrast that nicely represented Haydon. Finally choosing to take one of the half-destroyed St. Mary’s gym and a portrait photo of myself and a female student (Natalie Rogers) in business dress holding onto an Ipad. These photos on reflection should have both been portrait and the shot of me and Natalie should have been closer to improve the quality when it came to the actual magazine. We then went on to design the magazine on the Adobe Indesign. This involved looking at what i would need to put into the magazine cover, and then looking into how it actually looks. Finally we added in the photo and added a title above it and filled in the content page. this involved
